Attorneys of the Firm are completing the first stage of a comprehensive overview of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, as amended (UNCLOS III), as well as the framework of earlier international conventions as they apply to the development of natural resources on the continental shelf and the outer continental shelf of various nations. In a close collaboration with our colleagues from Canada, the Netherlands and Norway, this overview provides a practical manual of the international regulations concerning exploitation of the continental resources, as well as applicability of the most prevalent customs regulations to the projects undertaken on the continental shelf and outer continental shelf of the near-Arctic nations.
